Retail leadership hiring sits at the intersection of merchandising judgment and operational discipline across a large store network or omnichannel operation. ASTC recruits category heads, store operations leadership, merchandising and supply chain leaders for retail businesses building or scaling their footprint across India.
We assess candidates on their ability to read consumer demand at a granular level — what sells in which format, in which city, at which price point — while still running the operational machine (inventory, shrinkage, staffing, store economics) that determines whether that demand actually converts to margin.
As retail in India continues shifting between physical stores, quick commerce and omnichannel models, we increasingly look for leaders who have operated across more than one of these formats, rather than specialists in a single channel that may not represent where the category is heading.
